Publishing Stories on Yahoo! Buzz, Another Way to Bring Traffic

Yahoo! Buzz is a community-based news article website that combines the features of social bookmarking and syndication through a user interface that allows editorial control. It launched on February 26,2008. Yahoo! Buzz was created as a direct competitor to Digg. Yahoo! created the service in hopes that it would drive larger traffic to their site and would give them an advantage over larger online media companies such as Google or MSN, which are Yahoo!’s largest competitors in terms of search engines that provide services and web features to its customers.

Yahoo! Buzz has some categories like Entertainment, Sci/Tech
, Politics, Business, Health, Images, Lifestyle, Sports, and many more. Yahoo! Buzz Users can be allowed to publish their own news stories, and will get link to their own site. It's means with publishing articles and stories on it will be automatically driving great amount of traffic to our site.

The big benefit for Yahoo! Buzz publishers is that top Buzz stories are linked from the Yahoo home page, which turns a firehose of traffic onto a story. When those stories hit the home page there’s a good chance that the linked site will have a record day in traffic. Yahoo says they’ve sent 16 million visitors to outside sites in those first two weeks, and they’ve gathered data from some of the linked partners.

All Aobut John Rich.com

"John Rich"

Country music star, singer, songwriter and acclaimed producer John Rich has signed on to find the next “Nashville Star.” Rich will be one of the judges and mentors on NBC’s music competition series and his experience on and off the stage is sure to put some heat on the budding artists.

The Texas native, most recently known as one half of the multi-platinum Warner Bros. Records duo, Big & Rich, has been honing his writing skills for years. He has made a name for himself as an artist in his own right, a producer, and an award-winning songwriter.

In addition to his accolades as a performer and songwriter,John Rich has helped other artists catapult to stardom along the way. Currently named one of People Magazine’s most powerful people in the music industry, John has managed to create his own musical movement better known as the “MuzikMafia.”

Several years ago,John Rich, Big Kenny, and a group of friends began playing out together. What started out as a group of musicians throwing casual jam sessions at a local Nashville haunt, evolved into a band of brothers (and sisters) – the MuzikMafia. Gradually, the movement turned into one of the most exciting scenes in Nashville. Other founding members include multi-platinum selling artist, and ACM female vocalist of the year, Gretchen Wilson, Warner Bros. Records artists James Otto, who debuted 3 on the Top 200 chart in April 2008 and Cowboy Troy. Eventually it led to the pairing of John Rich and Big Kenny – thus creating Big & Rich.

While John is hard at work on his own career, a solo record scheduled to be released this Fall, he is simultaneously working to further the careers of other members of the MuzikMafia and artistic community. He co-produced not only his own Big & Rich record Horse Of A Different Color, but Gretchen Wilson’s first and second records, Cowboy Troy and James Otto’s current records, Randy Owen of Alabama’s first solo record, and Jewel’s first country record, to name a few.

Rich’s writing credits include the Gretchen Wilson hits “When I Think About Cheatin’” and “Here For The Party” as well as her ACM award-winning single of the year “Redneck Woman.” Rich also wrote Faith Hill’s smash hit single “Mississippi Girl” and co-wrote the majority of the songs on Cowboy Troy and Jason Aldean’s latest albums and co-wrote Big & Rich’s 1 single, “Lost In This Moment”. He also had past cuts on Martina McBride, Clay Walker, and Aaron Tippin’s albums.

Rich currently lives in Nashville.

Jay Leno Hospitalized

"Jay Leno" went to the hospital today after complaining he wasn't feeling well.

Jay Leno was not taken to the hospital by ambulance -- he either drove himself or was driven by a staffer. NBC officials have confirmed tonight's show taping has been canceled -- a repeat will air instead.

A rep for Jay Leno says he's still in the hospital for observation.

UPDATE -- A rep for "The Tonight Show" says Leno will miss Friday's episode as well. But, the rep adds, "Jay Leno is doing just fine. He was kidding around with the hospital staff and running his monologue jokes by the doctors and the nurses. He's expected back to work on Monday."
FROM YAHOO NEWS
UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – Jay Leno checked into a hospital with an undisclosed illness Thursday and canceled the taping of the "Tonight" show, but was doing well and planned to return next week, his publicist and NBC said.
Leno left his office at NBC's studios about midday and checked himself into a hospital for observation, said his publicist, Dick Guttman. He would not identify what ailed Leno, but characterized it as "mild" and said the comedian continued to work Thursday, making phone calls and writing jokes.

"Jay Leno is doing just fine," read a statement from NBC spokeswoman Tracy St. Pierre. "He was kidding around with the hospital staff and running his monologue jokes by the doctors and the nurses. He's expected back to work on Monday."
A woman who answered the media line at Providence Saint Joseph Medical Center, which is near the Burbank studio where Leno tapes "Tonight," said they had no patient by that name, and referred inquiries to NBC.

The network planned to air a rerun of the show Thursday night. Scheduled guests were "X-Men Origins: Wolverine" actor Ryan Reynolds, celebrity animal trainer Jules Sylvester and Big Bad Voodoo Daddy.

"We wish Jay the speediest of recoveries and hope that our soundcheck this morning didn't have anything to do with his illness or the cancellation of the show," joked Chad Jensen, manager for Big Bad Voodoo Daddy. He said most of the guys in the swing band instead were "in the ocean surfing this afternoon."

It was an unusual lapse for the famously intrepid performer, who routinely fills off-days from his TV show with live appearances on the comedy circuit.
Leno, who turns 59 on Tuesday, will leave the "Tonight" show May 29 after 17 years. But he will continue on NBC, with a Monday-through-Friday program at 10 p.m., starting in the fall.

The top-rated late-night host's move to prime time created a stir in the industry, taking the time slot usually reserved by broadcast networks for dramas such as "ER." And Leno has continued to make news, scoring a coup by booking President Barack Obama as a guest and performing free comedy concerts in the recession-wracked Detroit area.
